Team Kinsler or Team Reyes

Postby Wile E Coyote » Fri Feb 13, 2009 1:17 pm

I am joining a 12 team HTH keeper league that has 2-3 openings
Categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, L, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

I have been offered possibly one of the following 2 teams to pickup
There are 5 keepers

Which 5 would you keep from each team? And given the choice, which team would you pick? I'm leaning towards Team Kinsler.....THANKS!

Team 1 notables:
Ian Kinsler
Lance Berkman
Carlos Beltran
Roy Halladay
Ken Youkills
Chipper Jones

Team 2 notables:
Jose Reyes
Ryan Braun
Justin Morneau
Russell Martin
Nate McLouth
Shane Victorino
Alexei Ramirez

notable free agents (although preference may go to 1-2 new joining teams): Prince Fielder, Dustin Pedroia, Garrett Atkins, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Quentin, Nick Markakis, Alfonso Soriano, AJ Burnett

Team 1 notables:
Ian Kinsler 2b
Lance Berkman 1b
Carlos Beltran of
Roy Halladay sp
Ken Youkills 3b
Chipper Jones 3b

Team 2 notables:
Jose Reyes ss
Ryan Braun of
Alexei Ramirez 2b
Justin Morneau 1b
Russell Martin c
Nate McLouth of

what kind of pitching does team 2 have, what 3b will be available in the draft??
I think I'd take team 2 because your filling 3 of the toughest positions with quality options (reyes martin and alexei).

A-Ram really is not far off of Kinsler IMO. I think he'll run more this year. The kid has already proven he has good power. So I believe I'd go with team 2 and kick Vic to the curb.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

team kinsler looks better for competing in the short term, but long term outlook looks better with the second team. i would probably go with team reyes, braun, morneau, alexei, mclouth (or whoever you prefer of those remaining, theyre pretty even)

Id agree with this assessment and would go with team 2, even though I love Kinsler. Team 1 drop Chipper, Team 2 drop Morneau and try and get Fielder in the redraft! The other option is to keep Morneau and try and get Quentin, Markakis, or Soriano in the redraft

I would keep team 2 and its not even close, theres way too much age in team 1 and injury concerns

For team 2 I would keep

Reyes
Martin
Ramirez
Braun
Morneau

THe only reason I would keep Martin over Mclouth is because of depth and I think Mclouths numbers will drop some since he has no one around him
