Hey guys, my baseball league has some new rules, and im wondering how it changes the game.
First off its a 10 person, H2H league where points add up to the end of the week, and change your players on Mondays.
Hitting
Single 1 point
Double 2 points
Triple 3 points
Home Run 4 points
RBI 1 point
Run 1 point
Base on Balls 1 point
Stolen Base 2 points
Strikeout -.5 point
Caught Stealing -1 point
Hit by Pitch 1 point
Pitching
Win 7 points
Save 5 points
Shutout 5 points
Strikeout 1 point
Base on Balls -1 point
Inning Pitched 3 points
Hits Allowed -1 point
Earned Runs -2 points
Blown Save -2 points
Loss -5 points
Last year, saves and wins were worth 10 and nothing for a loss or blown save, so now that theyre worth less but losses are huge, does that make pitchers more important?
Also HR's last year were 6 points now theyre only 4, does that make big HR guys not as important? Please give me all the draft advice you can give, and thanks in advance

The one that gets me is 3 pts for inning pitched. That's nuts. I would guess pitchers completely dominated last year and the commish is trying to even things out. I don't think pitching is any more or less important than a standard league. The issue is always volatility and injury risk for pitchers. In a points league you have to look at points scored relative to the position. If you can see the points scored for last season with these settings do that and get a good gauge for how pitchers scored relative to each other, then look at the batting positions. Don't just look at the size of the numbers but the scoring range withing the positions. That's where the money is.
