Keepers due soon - Who to keep?

Postby suckerpuncher » Fri Feb 13, 2009 7:37 am

My keepers are due next week and I'm not quite sure who to keep. So I hope you can help me out here.

It's a H2H points league on CBS. It's a 16 team league and we can keep up to 8 guys. If we keep less we simply keep our picks.

The only limitation is that we can only keep players drafted after the 8th round and we have to give up the next higher pick.
Undrafted FA pickups cost the last available round pick. If I keep more than 1 FA pickup then one gets the next free round pick.
It's a bit complicated but I think you'll understand it.

In the last years the draft was always SP heavy. Last year there were almost 30 SP picked in the first 4 rounds so it might be a good idea to keep more SP and rebuild the hitting during the draft. That's what I already did in the last couiple of years and I was always in top 3 of the highest scoring teams. Just some bad luck and injuries in the playoffs prevented me from taking the league.

Well if SP is drafted early you are in good shape considering you have Lincecum and Volquez. While everyone is drafting pitchers you will be drafting position players, nice.

I agree with ruper here. Your batting is sub-par so I'd stack your Pitching with your pitchers (which is a real nice rotation) and grab a bunch of hitters before you grab more pitching.
