Final Keeper

Postby pokerplaya » Fri Feb 13, 2009 1:30 am

It's a 12 team h2h 6x6 (ops/holds) 10 keeper league. I'm set with my first 9, and I think I know who to take with my final pick, but I'd like some second opinions.

I have 7 bats and 2 SP already kept. My choices for the 10th and final spot are:

Billingsley, Victorino, or Lidge.

I believe I should probably go with Billingsley, though Victorino's skill set makes him attractive as well. It would nice to have a dominant closer, but I don't think I could take Lidge over Victorino or Billingsley.

Thoughts?

You know I'm a Billingsley homer. You're not going to get a good unbiased opinion and really you don't need one. More so, in a keeper, Bills for me. ;-D

Agreed, Bilingsley, the K's transfer well in h2h, what makes Victorino decent in roto, won't help you much in h2h - speed. 1 steal a week won't help much.

As long as your other keepers have some adequate speed among them, I would go Bills. It's easier to pick up SB's in the draft than it is to pick up a quality SP like Billingsley. I would only keep Lidge if you're confident the other elite closers are being kept.

Billingsley, is the best choice. I don't see Lidge repeating what he did last year.

Billingsley. You sure your 9th keeper can't be replaced by Victorino?

Believe it or not, my 9th keeper is Berkman. This will be year 7 for the league, and I've managed to build a pretty stacked squad. So, no, Victorino isn't getting kept over Berkman. B-)

That's exactly why I don't like playing in leagues with that many keepers... A few teams get stacked and it stops being fun... Do you have any restriction on what players can be kept or how many years they can be kept? Or can you just keep any 10 players?
