Capps w/ the save!!!!...I think he's a great value pick this year for saves...
I loved drafting this guy where he was going as my #2 closer.

Great value, IMO.
Agreed...Capps has become one of "my guys" that I target now...

Ugh.. Gregg is hard to watch but finishes for the save. A couple hard hit balls in the gaps but he got the job done I guess. We can look forward to a bunch of these types of games from him. 1IP 2H 1ER SV

probably true, but I'll take, it means a win for my Cubbies, and a save for me team!

Gregg's delivery is crazy. They were talking about it during the 9th. His back foot isn't even on the rubber when he pushes off and he pitches exclusively from the stretch whether there are runners on or not. Either way, if he can muddle through another season I'll be happy.

I don't quite see Borowski's terrible ratios. The saves will be hard to watch, but not THAT bad.

I'm really worried about Motte. You try not to overreact, but this situation is different. Motte was never named the closer. Instead, he was just the guy getting the first chance to close games... but a lot of people thought he was going to run away with the job. Some even expected him to rise to elite level status by/in 2010.
But he was just so terrible today, I don't know how much, if any, rope he has left... considering his rope may not have been long to begin with.
Before he came in today, I told someone... this first save will be the most important one he has all year. He needed to set a tone.

Big Brox looked ridiculous tonight. 2Ks and a weak pop-up. The gun went as high as 101
(Kenny Powers range?) ---better yet---I dont think it dropped below 97.
However.........the 3 batters he faced werent exactly murderers row............
.....ain't nobody got nothing to say about a 40-degree day. ...
