From SF Gate:
To get one 40-man roster spot open, the A's put co-closer Joey Devine on the 60-day DL, another sign that the team believes Devine's right elbow injury to be significant. Devine is visiting Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday and if he has a ligament problem, there is a strong possibility he will require season-ending surgery.

Thanks for that info, I was holding onto Devine hoping he would be back in a month or so. 60 day means he is likely done for the season IMO. There aren't too many arm problems that keep you out for 60+ and not the whole season are there?

According to that article he hasn't even seen the reaper yet. I wonder what info they have to believe he is done before Andrews takes a look. Maybe I'll hold off until Wednesday to react.

Morrow it is.

Brandon Morrow, who had an impressive inning today, will be the closer, Wakamatsu said.

what closer situation is more volatile, Colorado or Oakland? I can possibly pick up either Corpas or Casilla.

Thx

This gives Casilla, if healthy, a big boost in value as many, including myself, don't think Ziegler has the chops to close full-time as he doesn't have great stuff and all he really has is his delivery which has a place in baseball just not during crunch time.

I'd say Ziegler has less leech than Street but both, barring injury, are safe for about a month unless they really stink it up. So, Casilla is the better investment even though Corpas has more talent but Casilla has a less talented closer in front of him.
