I'd love to see Merkin Valdez get a chance in the near future.

I must have a head injury.. did a mod threaten to close this thread because I guy asked which closer was safer?

Because we had like 5 pages of two guys insulting each other and I never saw a mod say a word...

Just struck me as strange..

He was pretty worthless before, so um, yes he's now totally worthless.

Well, if he's healthy or close to healthy then he's closing no matter what. He has a track reocrd that preceed's himself and just because his fastball is 2 mph lower than it should be won't be a big deal imo. Downs may seem some time as Ryan gets more strecthed out but he'll close if he's even close to healthy.

Potential future saves vulture Juan Rincon made the opening day roster for Detroit.............

The Tigers announced several other decisions today and have effectively set their pitching staff.

Provided they remain healthy, Justin Verlander, Edwin Jackson, Armando Galarraga, Zach Miner and Porcello will form the rotation.

The bullpen will include right-handers Perry, Brandon Lyon, Fernando Rodney, Juan Rincon, and Eddie Bonine, along with left-handers Bobby Seay and Nate Robertson.

Well I remember Rincon being good on the Twins a few years ago. I thought he was done though...Something to watch I agree.
