This is getting off topic, but I still think your memory is a little rough about Tank in 2007. Here's his ERA splits by month that year:
April: 4.5
May: 8.36
June: 6.14

He actually did much better in the 2nd half, but I would hardly say he was the best reliever in the pen, and it's hard to fault the manager for not giving Tank the closer role after that brutal start.

Thanks for the correction. I guess I'm just getting too old and should look up facts! As you said, the Tank part is off topic, but good to help those deciding which guy to gamble on in the Marlins pen.

Sorry if I steered anyone wrong by my misremembering leading to my thought that Fredi won't use a lefty (meaning Meyer). The jury on that is still out.

What the ef is up with Lidge? For some reason I thought he'd be ok after he came off the DL and he just sucked again.

For reasons that don't need to be discussed, I'm not adding a 4th RP. So if you were me, with my third reliever spot, would you:

A) Be patient with Lidge.
B) Replace him with Madson/Romero while you have the chance.
C) Wait for the next up and comer from a different team?

Lidge had 41 saves last year. His injury was not arm-related. Those are two reasons to stay the course with him. Up and comers probably won't start popping up in earnest until the trade deadline.

I'd stick it out with Lidge for at least another 2 weeks.

Rodney has been very solid this year, and even though he's still Fernando Rodney, it's not like Zumaya has ever been able to be consistent in crunch time. He's also been having some fairly rough outings lately.
