Yahoo: Jonathan Broxton remained unavailable because of discomfort in the big toe of his right foot, where he received a cortisone shot earlier this week. Manager Joe Torre said Broxton should be ready for Friday night's series opener with the Angels in Anaheim. Ronald Belisario and Ramon Troncoso combined to close out the A's in the ninth inning with a one-run lead, a situation in which Broxton almost certainly would normally have been called upon.

Troncoso definitely next in line?

This from the Disabled List Informer (Chris Neault).

Jonathan Broxton was inactive last night as he received an injection for a "sore nerve" in his right big toe. It seems likely to be a Morton’s Neuroma, which is a benign nerve mass that develops in the distal part of the foot and toes when there is excessive pressure being placed upon the forefoot. Since this is the foot that he pushes off with, this could be a result of a foot that falls into pronation (flattens out) late in the push off. Injections usually work, but if this is a neuroma, it will come back at some point. Fix the biomechanics of the foot and it should stay quiet. Though Broxton is expected back tonight, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them hold him out until Friday.

Here is a link to the post... 4th one down.

Not sure if I like the idea of that comment that it will come back at some point...

Note that I left the days out of it this time, since someone wasn't happy with my days of the week spelling prowess.

Lol.

Why do you think Jenks is going to get traded?

Kenny Williams is shopping him and Dye (or at least that is what is being reported) .. makes sense bc he can command a lot in return as an established closer and they seem to have a solid young core to build around and get better .. but you never know with Williams - he is very unpredictable ..

Well, Frasor looked like a turd today. If the Jays haven't lost faith in him, I just may have.

The plot thickens.

Accardo: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K, 0 ER
Frasor: .1 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 K, 1 ER

If Frasor is the closer, he shouldn't have been brought in in the bottom half of an inning with the score tied. Visiting teams usually bring in their closers in extra inning games in, well, save situations, no?
