Lindstrom Still The Closer -- For The Moment -- Despite Shaky Outing
When Fredi Gonzalez was asked about Matt Lindstrom after Saturday's shaky performance, the manager looked up at the clock, noted the time, and said the he would go to Lindstrom again Sunday in a save situation if one occurs.

"As of 11:08, we'll give the opportunity to Matty," Gonzalez said.

Lindstrom, who took over in the ninth with a 5-2 lead, was unable to get ouf of the inning. He loaded the bases and was replaced by Leo Nunez with two outs. Nunez gave up a 2-run single to Aaron Rowand before striking out Edgar Renteria to end the game.

Lindstrom, who now has a 6.17 ERA, has had his moments

looks like, at least for now, Gonzalez is sticking with Lindstrom. Would you do the same?

I just picked up Wilson, do we know the extent of Francisco's injury? They said it wasn't a reinjury, but how would this not be the same shoulder? Was he really out this/last time with his off-arm?

Why am I not reading about Francisco's shoulder ANYWHERE else. Yahoo is pretty good about reporting just about anything and I've seen nothing at all on both Wilson's and Francisco's new news and notes.

Isringhausen hasn't pitched yet in June, and has given up at least one baserunner in each appearance this year. Damn worthless junk.

Isringhausen is recently back from surgery and has only pitched 5 innings. I think it's too early to judge and wouldn't be surprised to see him closing at some point for TB.

Wheeler hadn't pitched in over a week until last night either. The Rays hadn't needed to use the bullpen much during the Royals series and when they did they didn't use the later inning guys much

CJ Wilson warming up for the Rangers with a potential save opp coming up... The Red Sox announcers don't have any additional news on Francisco, they weren't even aware that he wasn't available today.. hmmm

UPDATE: Wilson closes out the game with a relatively easy save, after a walk to the leadoff hitter he got a double play and K'd Ortiz to end the game. Francisco was seen watching the game from the Pen so he is still with the team.

Rotoworld: Rangers closer Frank Francisco was unavailable Friday night due to lingering shoulder soreness. The injury is not considered serious and is unrelated to the shoulder strain that put Francisco on the disabled list last month. Hey may be out for a couple of days, however. C.J. Wilson is relevant once again.
