Just drop isringhausen for Howell. Not sure he is the guy, but at least I can start howell and not worry about my ERA being destroyed and stealing the random save. Too scared to use hausen unless i KNOW hes going for saves... Value seems better.
I think Howell might be the guy now. In Tuesday's game, Howell was warming up to pitch the 9th in what would have been a save situation. But the Rays scored 2 runs and eliminated the save chance. Howell pitched the 9th anyway, and was very effective. Now after his clean save today, I don't see any reason why the Rays wouldn't hand him the ball for their next save chance. If you're chasing saves, better grab him now before somebody else does. If it turns out Howell is not the closer; you can always drop him later.

I don't think there's going to be one guy in Tampa Bay. We've seen Choate get a couple situational saves recently. It's a committee.
That said, I think Howell is the guy to own because A. His ERA, WHIP and K rate are all helpful in fantasy and B. He's the best pitcher in the bullpen, so he's more likely to close games by default than anyone else.
I think Howell will finish the year with 10-15 saves. Add that to his ratios and he's worth owning in most leagues.
add me to the list that likes howell more than the other RPs in TB. he may not get the most saves, but he won't frustrate while maddon is figuring thing out.
