May. 25 - 9:28 am et Dr. John Uribe, a Miami-based specialist, confirmed Sunday that Jose Valverde is on track in his rehab from an injured right calf.
Valverde sought out a second opinion this weekend after growing frustrated with the slow pace of his recovery. "The discomfort that he had was just part of the healing process," Astros GM Ed Wade said. "We expect him to start running here in the next couple of days. We’re still probably weeks away from him being able to pitch in a game at the big league level."
Izzy came in for the save after the Rays pen blew a 10-2 lead and looked horrible. He walked 3 and gave up a double to V-Mart to lose the game. He was getting squeezed, but still, he couldn't get an out. This was a definite set back for him. I think this gives Wheeler the next save opp. Balfour got rocked early in the inning as well.

Nah, he'll get another shot. LIke you said, he was getting squeezed. If he blows the next one, i'll be a lot more worried.
Capps just got drilled in the hand/arm and appears to be in a lot of pain. He immediately left the game. Sean Burnett replaced him for the save opp. Who will replace Capps if he hits the DL?

One would think that Grabow would at least get the ops against lefties.
Matt Capps left Monday's game in the ninth inning after taking a comebacker off his head. Capps was able to walk off with minimal assistance, so hopefully he's day-to-day. John Grabow and Jesse Chavez would be the top candidates for saves if a DL stint is necessary.
Hal·la·day, n. 1. every fifth day in Philadelphia. 2. a day of rest for the bullpen. 3. innings eater. 4. doc. 5. ace.

The ball actually appeared to be lined off Capps' right elbow (or very near it).
I like Chavez's chances to get the save opps. over Grabow's. Grabow hasn't been bad just vs righties. He has a .333 BAA to lefties in 6 IP(.321 BBA to righties in 14 IP). While Chavez has been good against everyone he's faced.
