Zumaya in for tigers save with Rodney pitched last 3 and 5 out of last 6 nights. He's already given up a two run shot w/ a 3 run lead, and has 2 on w/ two out now up by one. Ooops Game Commentary...

He did get the save, but doesn't look like he'll overtake Rodney yet. Rodney still doesn't realize he's Fernando Rodney, I guess.

Rodney's walks have always been his achilles heel. The guy throws almost as hard as Zumaya (Rodney tops out around 97 with an average around 95) and is exhibiting good control. Just from looking at his stats, it looks like he is trusting his stuff more and not trying to make the perfect pitch, while completely eliminating his slider from his repertoire...resulting in fewer walks and a few fewer Ks, but overall better stats and a more effective closer.

Frankie Francisco returned from the DL today and looked as good as ever getting the save.

Did give up a single to berkman, but otherwise overmatched em with 2 Ks and his best velocity of the year (97).

Wheeler was already rostered some time ago in my league...by the time I got home Izzy and Nelson were grabbed. For the price of one Scott Olsen I added Howell on a flier since I'm scraping for saves. That said my choice had kinda been made if I chose to enter the sweepstakes LOL.

Not sure bout the others in the mix but Howell does have SP/RP in ESPN leagues plus averaging 1k/IP so at least the other stats can get a little help there.

That said I had Percy in another league and went with Izzy in that one.

Sampson with 2 IP, no hits/BB, 2K. Then Hawkins comes in and serves one up, nice!

Hoping this might help push Sampson into the 9th inning while I wait for Valverde..

I've been looking for an excuse to pick up Howell, and here it is.
Picked up Isringhausen in another league where Howell was unavailable.

One team will be happy, and one team will have an open roster spot. ;-)

He hadn't pitched for few days. I'm sure he was just getting some work in.

Any chance on Marmol taking the closer role?
