B.J. Ryan should be removed from the closer role on the front page. It's Downs' job to lose now.

If BJ pitches well the next couple of weeks he'll be back closing games, no matter how Downs is pitchin' IMO.

Well then you must have a very low baseball IQ.
If Downs goes 7/7 gives up 0-1 ERs, you really believe they would remove him for the role? Right, keep holding our hope BJ owner.

I havent been here for a few days but gees, I started some serious s... with my post.
Still I stick to my opinion, but only time will tell who's right or wrong.

Suggestion for the Page 1 post: How about listing a Top 5 non-closer pickups? Might help eliminate some of the waiver questions that pop up here.

It could be both guys getting short-term saves due to injuries (C.J. Wilson) and guys in line in volatile situations (Andrew Bailey). What do you think?

Great idea in theory, but I dont think it would work here. Leagues vary too much and the info wouldnt be useful for most peeps. For example, CJ Wilson isn't available in any of my leagues. I think reading the comments and news in this thread is enough...each reader should be able to make the decision of who to pick up based on that info.

Maybe rank 10-15 of them in order of most likely to vulture the most saves? All other factors (ERA/WHIP/K) don't factor in.

Is Saito really the guy to have in Boston to backup Papelbon (and get holds)?

Boston in general has not shown a true 8th inning guy so far. And Saito has not had much action. Just curious.....

Watch out for Ron Villone in Washington. I still think Hanrahan is going to end up getting a real shot, but Villone has been the best bullpen arm so far and pitched well again tonight. Villone did have 16 holds and only 1 BS last year for the Cardinals.
