Any Phillies fans have an inside scoop on Lidge's health? He's obviously pitching again, but I keep hearing that his knee isn't right and might never be. I've got Madson and need saves; is he worth hanging onto for a while?

Not sure I understand. Not that I think Sherrill is good, but what has Chris Ray done that he should get any save opportunities either? I guess if your are chasing saves Ray should be owned. Now the question is just would you rather own him over Julian Tavarez, Joe Beimal, LaTroy Hawkins, or David Aardsma. I would definitely rather have Hawk and Aardsma right now because they are closers, and not awful. And normally I'd say I want Ray over Tavarez no question, but Ray has been bad and IDK if he is much better right now. Beimal I guess is a wait and see right now.

It has got to be Ray even though he's struggled as of late...

One thing most people seem to forget is that he's struggling but not as the team's closer...He's been basically doing mop-up work and not under high stress situations so I figure his skipper will give him a chance before anyone else in the pen to close a game out, then we will see how it goes from there.

danys baez has looked good and gotten praises from the team. maybe he gets some opps.

is corpas still the closer in colorado? i read today that he might get sent to AAA.....should i start corpas or julian tavarez this week? my other option for my 9th pitcher this week would be matt cain (at colorado), which i do not like.

danys baez has looked good and gotten praises from the team. maybe he gets some opps.

Jim Johnson has also looked good and has usually pitched the 8th inning in saves situations. I can see them keeping Baez as a 1+IP guy in the middle innings and giving Johnson a chance to close.

thx....tavarez over cain is just for one week b/cuz i don't like cain at colorado and i need saves (in 12th place out of 13 teams in saves right now). i am first in wins and k's w/ grienke, peavy, bedard, cain leading the charge....also starting myers and floyd this week b/cuz two starts each.

I grabbed Beaz. He's pitching well this season, and has experience closing. I just don't see how they can throw Ray in there. He's been not so good all season, in low and high pressure sitches. I could see how maybe they'd go with Johnson as the closer as he's also been pitching well and they might want to keep Baez in as the 1+ inning middle relief guy that he's done well at this season.
