Bailey was warming up for the A's in the bottom of the 13th.
Gio Gonzalez started the inning with a 3-run lead.
Game is now tied 7-7, going to the 14th. Geren hasn't gone to Bailey yet, but it is believed he doesn't want to use Bailey or Wuertz today unless absolutely necessary.

Which at this point it is. They have no more long relief pitchers to throw out there, and Wuertz and Bailey are there two most effective RP's. I'd give them the shot.

Listening to radio broadcast - Gonzalez has thrown over 100 pitches, and is unlikely to pitch B-14. Not sure yet if it will be Bailey, Wuertz or Dan Giese. Might also depend on whether or not game is tied, or A's have lead...
EDITED TO ADD: Gonzalez is starting the 14th inning.

he's thrown 95 according to gameday, but it was a pretty bad decision to leave him in at pretty much any point in the 13th, especially after he walked in a run.

My guess is Geise Wuertz Bailey in that order of liklihood. Bailey just threw 2 innings last night. And Wuertz just closed out 2 games. Gonna want to rest them if possible.

Interestingly enough, Dana Eveland is up in the bullpen and will pitch the 15th.
I don't understand Geren's desire to avoid Giese, Bailey and especially Wuertz today.
Here's their recent usage:
May 2 - Bailey (2 IP), Wuertz (1 IP) May 1 - Giese (3.1 IP) April 30 - Bailey (2 IP), Wuertz (1 IP) April 29 -
Hell, Wuertz has only thrown 2 innings in the last four days...I don't understand why Geren would use one of his starting pitchers (Eveland) before Wuertz.
Why are we documenting inning by inning of a 15 inning A's game... When they're closer has been out not due to poor pitching....but because of a flu bug?

Their closer is on the DL. Ziegler is a fill in and has mysteriously disappeared for over a week now due to a 'flu bug'.

Yes but what use is there in discussing inning by inning of a game in the 15th inning? It's all hands on deck at that point (thus Eveland). No closer information can be taken out of the inning by inning commentary of who's entered in the 14th-15th inning of that type of game. No?
