Ray is currently the No. 2 closer for the Orioles as manager Dave Trembley doesn't want to use George Sherrill in that role on consecutive days, MASN Sports reports.
Someone just copied that 2 posts earlier. Both have sucked so far.
Sherril is naturally working himself out of the closer's role whereas Ray is on the rise!
I am not sure how you all view the comment by the O's manager about Ray being the #2 closer, but it seems to me like he's slowly trying to integrate Ray back into the 9th inning duties without completely damaging Sherril's confidence...
Not using Sherril back to back day is just an excuse IMO!

Yup. Ray had a great line this last week, while Sherrill has been pretty bad. Unless Sherrill really picks up, I think his time as closer is limited...
As of right now Hoffman's not looking to good in his minor league starts
"Apr 25 RHP Trevor Hoffman made his second minor-league rehab appearance Friday for Class AAA Nashville, and for the second time he allowed two hits and one run in one inning of work. Hoffman allowed a single and double to the first two hitters before retiring the next three. Unless Hoffman reports a problem in his recovery from an oblique strain, he will be activated Sunday before the Brewers' game in Houston."
Is it coffey or villaneuva who gets the nod if hoffman goes back down again?

He's probably just rusty. He hasn't pitched for like a month. Coffey seems to be the reliever who is in fashion with Macha at the moment.

Scratch that, now Pinto relieves Nunez after 1 hit, 1 walk and 1 out.
for now, this is probably just giving Lindstrom some breathing room after getting rocked HARD last night. I still think he (Lindstrom) holds the job...for now.
They should let Lindstrom come in for the last out for the save. Either Coste or Cairo will PH for Erye.
Any idea what is going on in Milwaukee? Hoffman not in for the save? Coffey in the 8th, gave up the lead and then Carlos V comes in after they got it back? Is Coffey no longer 2nd in line?
