Havok, if nothing else huge pops up before Friday, would you mind giving us a Washington update in your Weekly Closer Complex article? I found the St. Louis article very instructive and am glad to have Frankin in one of my leagues.

Any other closer situations we should be keeping a close eye on?

My bad if I'm late on this but is Aardsma worth holding onto? I know Morrows the guy but if theres a save a week to be had due to them wanting to rest Morrow after back to back days then maybe Aardsma is worth holding onto.

I doubt it is a save a week (Aardsma won't see 25+ save opps) if Morrow remains the primary go-to-guy but 10-15 opps is certainly likely. Morrow will probably pitch more back to back opps as the season goes on too. Also, I doubt Seattle keeps winning like they have. Definitely worth holding in deeper leagues if you need saves.

I really don't think Aardsma is worth holding on to in non-hold leagues at this point unless Morrow goes down with an injury. Some of the save chances Morrow misses, for whatever reason, will go to matchup guys, ie lefties, and not Aardsma and Aardsma doesn't have the track record you really want in a MR for shallow or mixed leagues imo.

I concur.. if your going to hold on to a backup for strikeouts low era and possible wins I'd pick_up Brian Bruney, NYY 12so 2 wins 6ip...ect

Downs is going to be a valuable reliever worth having whether he's accumulating Saves or not. But it's clear that if he's healthy BJ Ryan will get every Save Opportunity.

Yes, obviously they are going to let him try to finish the game. Let's see how he does and then post about it.


What don't you guys get about not making this thread so cluttered it becomes painful to look through?

Before anybody asks, Coffey's Save today against the Mets was the 8 out variety. I don't think there's much to be read there...
