Isn't that pretty obvious considering he got the save yesterday when Valverde was unavailable and was used again in the 8th today with a 1 run lead. Hawkins has pitched 3 days in a row now though so is likely unavailable tomorrow. All 3 of those appearances were good ones.

Looks like it's official.

Sat, Apr 18

Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said before Friday night's game that Corpas will be the closer, the Associated Press reports.

Recommendation: This came after a string of bad outings by Huston Street. The Rockies blew a lead in the seventh inning on Friday night before Corpas had a chance to get into the game.

Unless Valverde is really hurt and goes on the DL I don't see him being replaced soon. He struggled all April last year and still kept the role and turned in a great year. They'll be patient with him. That said, Hawkins would be next

Villanueva is being used in the 7th of a 0-0 game today with the bottom of the Mets order due up. Has there been a changing of the guard there now until Hoff gets back?

Villa has had 2 bad consecutive outtings - pretty sure he's not the interim closer anymore... plus Hoff is due back in less than a week...Villa got me 1 save and horrible numbers - not worth it

He's the interim by default right now.
