I would hope for Balfour, but he has been horrendous lately.
right now the only person to look good in that pen is Joe Nelson. They are all playing like crap right now. Balfour was brought in for the 8th, gave up 1 hit, and was pulled because of matchups with the next batter. That doesn't instill confidence that Maddon would use him. I think they will stay with Percy for now. I think Izzy will be an option when he is healthy. He threw a bullpen session today and looked good.
If I can 2, or hopefully 3 full-time closers outta this mess, I'll be extremely happy.
Thank you for sharing this with us. We are all interested how your teams are doing, so keep posting it in the future.
it does make me feel a lot better that someone has such crappy closers.
Closer/Self-Esteem boost thread, I like it .
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

He's a good pitcher but considering what the Rockies have invested in Street (trade value) and Corpas (contract with options thru 2013) they will get every opportunity to close. It shouldn't work that way but it does.
