Agreed. I do not see Street holding onto the role much longer. He's been very shaky.

If I can 2, or hopefully 3 full-time closers outta this mess, I'll be extremely happy.

As a Motte owner I grabbed Perez as insurance early and I hope they both combine for 25ish saves on the year...

Well Perez just pitched the 7th and 8th of a 11-7 game against the DBacks. In the 7th he walked the first batter, threw gas and K'd the next two hitters, and then got Chris Schneider to ground out to third. The 8th he got a groundout and two flyouts for a quick inning. Overall, not a bad start, but he was having a little trouble throwing his soft stuff for strikes. Something to build on though ;-D. Motte pitched the 9th and looked good also. Oh wait is this game commentary? Where is the line drawn on that one??? Really, not trying to be anything, just wondering.

During the game today, the Sox announcers said (that Leyland said that) even when Zumaya is 100%, the job is Rodney's to lose. FWIW
Be excellent to each other.

Manager Clint Hurdle said that the closer's job would be reevaluated before Friday's game in Los Angeles but stopped short of saying there would be a change.

"You can do anything you want when it's the best for the team. We will look at a lot of things," Hurdle said.
