As per the discussion recently in this thread, Managers who decide not to manage to the save might impact the value of closers, and so far K-Rod could be an example of that.

Out of the 20 something blown saves the Mets had last year, how many were from the person NOT the closer? And how many were the night after the CLOSER pitched and was not available to pitch for a second straight night.

Mets are off tomorrow, no reason for them not to use Putz and K-rod in a 1 run game. At home there was no chance of a save opp after they were still behind following the 8th.

BJ was throwing 82-86? Are you sure that was his fastball? He was throwing 87-89 when he gave up those 4 runs against the Indians. Either way it's good to see him actually get a save.
