Postby Surfs up » Thu Feb 12, 2009 9:44 pm

I have the 1st, 3rd and 6th picks in the first round. I also have the 2nd pick in second round( 14th overall ) . The owner of the 4th pick wants to trade it. Should I try to get that pick?
My keepers. M. Cabrera,Wright, Bay, Bruce, Tulo,Soria,Shields, Josh Johnson and Price
Here are the top 14 players avalible this year. We keep player four years.5x5 9 player keeper and draft 16 players. 12 teams.
Pujols
Sizemore
Reyes
Rollins
Utley
Howard
Berkman
Beltran
Fielder
Holliday
Mauer
Morneau
Ichir
Roberts
I'm taking Pujols ith the first pick. I'm hoping to get Reyes with the third pick . And I am looking at Utley with the sixth. Knowing my team and the top players . What would you do?Thoughts?

If you can keep Miggy and Wright, I see no reason why not! A combo of your second round selection and one or two of the rest of your keepers doesn't sound bad. He may want at least your #6 overall + one or two other guys as well. If you go with this scenerio, you still should be able to nab three excellant players right off the bat!
There is some crazy talent thrown into your draft!

Yeah this years draft is wild. Some great players. Their contracts ran out after last season. Next year Hanley and Kinslar lead the way but the talent drops off after that. I was chatting with the owner of the 4th pick. His team is preety se. he isn't looking to trade players. He is all about improving in the early rounds. And yes I would have to give him my 6th pick. I hate to include a second or third rounder just to move two spots. If we do picks as part of a trade the other guy has to get picks back. We all need 16 picks. They don't have to be in numerical order. Just as long as we all have 16. The players I listed first are my keepers as of now. I still have Mad Max and Joe Saunders on my roster along with C. Pena, Chris Young ( outfielder ) and Travis Snider.I will have to drop to 9 players in two weeks.

In that casem if you knew Sizemore would be avail. with your third pick, I wouldn't mind flipping your 6th overall and 3rd rounder(maybe lower if you could haggle it) for his 4rth overall and something around 6th, 7th, or 8th round. You would have to try and find out what the owner of the second overall pick is thinking (off of his keepers or by talking to him). If you could get Pujols, Sizemore and Utley, it would be well worth it!

I think the owner of the 2nd pick is looking at Sizemore. I wouldn't be surprised to see him take Reyes or even Howard.I was thinking Sizemore if he takes Reyes or reyes if he takes Sizemore. And I am hoping Utley is there at 6 if I can't make a trade.I know the owner of 5 will not budge.
