League positions setup question

I'm in a 5X5 H2H league with a setup of C/1B/2B/SS/3B/MI/CI/3OF/U and 4SP/2RP/2P and 5 bench with weely lineups. I have proposed adding an outfielder, as I think having a MI and CI spot and not adding an outfielder overvalues infielders.

I have 2 questions relating to this.

1. Do you agree with adding an outfielder?

2. If we add an outfielder should we also add a pitching spot to balance out the hitting vs. pitching?

Personally, since your group of guys seems to want a pretty deep league, I would add 2 OF spots (either going with a LF, CF, RF and two general OF spots or by going with 5 general OF spots). I would also recommend adding a pitcher spot, but slightly tweak the distribution to be something like 3 SP, 2 RP, 4P or something like that. I think you're on the right track though as far as a plan to action, though I wouldn't attribute the need for extra OFs as directly correlated to misaligned IF values. No matter what the system, certain positions are going to have different values - this is one of the beauties of the game, and as long as you are aware of it, you're prolly ahead of the curve on most of your league-mates
