Please rate my draft

I just finished an in person draft for a keeper league. 9 team 5x5 keeper league. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

1) Guerrero-OF (3rd pick - tough time choosing between him and Prior)
2) Schilling-SP
3) Brett Boone-2B (good players in shallow positions was a winning strategy for me last year)
4) Jeter-SS (see above)
5) Zito-SP
6) Huff-1B/OF
7) Sosa-OF (the consensus steal of the draft)
8) Juan Pierre-OF (also fell a bit lower than expected)
9) Guardado-RP (closer pool was getting thin)
10) W. Miller-SP
11) D. Young-3B (expecting nice numbers from him this year)
12) Nomo-SP
13) Kearns-OF
14) M. Sweeney-1B (fell low because of back problems)
15) J. Julio-RP
16) J. Guillen-OF
17) Griffey Jr.-OF (I couldn't watch him drop much more)
18) B.H. Kim-SP
19) V. Martinez-C
20) M. Herges-RP
21) AJ Burnett-SP
22) J. Lieber-SP

overall a pretty good draft


Here are some comments:

I would've picked Soriano at 3rd since Vlad won't steal as much now, IMO.

I wouldn't have drafted Pierre at all since Manager McKeon doesn't like stealing

I would've taken somebody like Santana instead of Zito at 5th round. Zito had a huge decline and low K's

Sosa was the steal of the draft. Nice job!

Guardado went a little high. There's always closers in the 15-20th rounds. (e.g. Chacon, Graves, Biddle, Koch)

D. Young is a great pick at 11th round. Yes he will do well this year.

I wouldn't have taken Sweeney b/c I think he is done b/c of injuries

V. Martinez is a risky starting catcher. I would've gotten Varitek somewhere around Pierre's pick.

Burnett is a great pick, some guy took him in the 15th of my draft.

Overall good but that Pierre pick bugs me. I'd have gotten Baldelli and/or Milton Bradley - guys that at least have a little punch and can steal.

I appreciate your insight and the time you took. In response, here's some reasoning and worrying:

I found out the draft order minutes before the draft, but I was pretty certain I wasn't going to take Soriano with the 3rd pick. I had him last year with the 5th pick, and he was great, but I just have a bad feeling about him, the way I had a good feeling about him last year.

I didn't realize Pierre was going to be running less this year. In fact I grabbed him so I didn't have to worry about SBs for the rest of the draft, so that may be trouble.

I too am worried about Sweeney, but I figured 14th round was a good time to take a chance on him anyway....

I'm high on Martinez because I've seen him develop for awhile now, although I never expect much out of my catchers.

I didn't realize Chacon was closing. I could use some closers, so I'll have to keep a close eye on the wire. Who would you drop considering it may be awhile before I can put Burnett on the DL?

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my team, but I am bothered a little bit by taking Vlad over Prior. That one pick would have altered my whole draft though, so there's no use even thinking about it.
