Marte is an intriguing player. While his arm is solid, he tends to be a bit erratic in the field, mostly due to his age(17). He profiles probably more likely as a 1b or LF, but he does have average speed and instincts that may allow him to stay at 3b. His bat is really his best tool. He has better than average pitch recognition at a young age, which is quite unusual. He does tend to get stuck in ruts where he'll get pull happy, but overall, you can't expect much ore than he showed last year in rookie ball. Combine that with the fact that the Mets tend to push their top prospects, and you get the sense he could see some action as soon as 2011 with a Sept. call-up, if he continues ot progress as the Mets expect....
Hope this helps....
