I have been offered Jose Lopez and a 7th round pick for my Carlos Pena and my 12th round pick. Now I have a logjam at first base where I am most likely going to have to throw Konerko back into the draft pool since I have Thome, Konerko, Pena, and MCab. Can only keep 3 since there is a first base, CI, and DH position.
AL only league, 10 team, 23 team rosters, 7 keepers with 3 year contracts, 5x5 roto style
Is this enough to get back for Pena or should I just keep him?
I think it is a fine trade. You get a 2B which are some what hard to come by as well as a decent pick for a guy that would be fighting for playing time and should give you similar numbers to Konerko.

I like the trade, but what about the contracts? Do you get to keep Lopez for the full three years if you wanted? Actually either way I would do the trade. Also, do you have anyone else that's worth keeping other than Konerko?
Even though I am not high on Lopez, I like the deal primarily because it is an AL only. Same deal in a mixed, I probably hold off.
The thing with your AL only is that I think locking in an every day 2B is important. If you have all three of the 1B UTIL and CI spots filled with 1B, you limit yourself in flexibility which becomes pretty important with the single-league position scarcity.
I have a link here that deals with an almost similar issue, but in a mixed league. viewtopic.php?t=367302
