B-Chad wrote:higher pie I applaud you! That is an awesome spreadsheet. I remember using the quadrant graph posted last year, and incoporating walks into the equation is very handy. A name that is very much of interest to me since he'll likely be flying waaaaaay toward the bottom of people's radars is Wandy Rodriguez. Good K-rate, solid GB rate (which I was unaware of) and solid control. If I'm not mistaken his greatest problem has been his home/road splits in the past (hmmmmm wasn't the Ervin Santana's biggest problem coming into this season... just saying

). Nice work.
Muchas gracias.
Your kind words (and some additional suggestions from Rich at Baseball Analysts) have motivated me to make the sheet even better. See the updated version here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pcwHMrO9Xyn-oW9HCl2ZwJAK/9 and BB/9 have been replaced by K/BF and BB/BF. Rich did some number crunching, and found that the Z-Score weightings should be 5/2.5/1 for K/BB/GB. That's reflected in the sheet now, too.
Enjoy.

Nice work. It would really be interesting to see the previous 2 years for each pitcher or something. Might show some hidden gems.

Surprisingly Ubaldo pitches quite a bit better at home, a bit odd how much better.

Can you do the same thing for 06, 07? I asked before but didn't get a response. Thanks.
