In a startling development, I cannot reveal what will or won't be in the game this year. But here are things I can safely tell you...
- When we add a feature to any of our full games (baseball, football, basketball, hockey), if it makes sense across all four, we typically try to add it to all four. So usually if you see a feature you like in one of our full games, there is a decent bet it will then appear in the other games.
- We had keeper-related features in our football game this year. Specifically, a commissioner can set up a custom draft order pick-by-pick, spelling out each pick in each round if need be, as long as every team ends up with the right number of players. The commish can also preassign a keeper player in lieu of any pick. This combination should enable most keeper leagues with various keeper rules to participate in a live draft. Also, if a commissioner pre-assigned keepers in this way, they could choose to have those keepers designated throughout the game with a "K" icon, showing you which players had keeper status. Finally, the commish could specify rules under which a keeper would no longer be designated a keeper (if the player was traded, if the player was dropped to waivers, and/or if the player cleared waivers).
Tell ya what. I'm a nice guy. Suffice it to say that you can expect at least that much keeper functionality in this year's baseball game. Funston already pretty much spilled that many beans.
