Even if you don't think his stats will improve you have to admit he is as close to a lock at 1st base for 30, 100, 100 as it gets. With the potential to explode, grabbing a player with his potential at pick 45-50 is no where near overrated. I believe he is going to be one of the steals of the draft this season.
i'm just trying to point out that he's a guy for whom people are focusing too much on last year's numbers and not enough on his underlying skills and opportunity (or lack thereof i should say with that lineup and park). increasing counting stat trends don't always portend better numbers the following year. it sounds simple, but it's obviously not based on where i see him ranked. i see almost no way he ends up being a steal this year at his current ADP.
Actually it seems as though many people aren't focusing enough on last years numbers. If it was any other Ball Park, at 26 years old a guy that hit 36 hrs 119 rbi and 103 runs with nearly a .280 avg would be going in the early 2nd round based purely on his improvement since he's been in the majors a long with his age. So being able to grab a player with his skill set at picks 40 to 50 is a steal. Considering his ceiling is so high, and his floor is very solid.
Here's a little fact for you. There were 4 first baseman that had atleast 30 hrs 100 rbi and 100 runs last season. In 2007 there were 3 first baseman that had atleast 30 hrs 100 rbi and 100 runs.
When is Adrian going to get some love?
