Decisions, decisions

Postby wkpdpack » Sun Feb 08, 2009 3:21 pm

12 team Keeper League, 5x5 roto scoring, keep 7.

Keepers are:

Braun
Howard
Kinsler
Morneau
Kemp
Granderson
either Atkins or KRod

If not trade can be made, do I keep Atkins or KRod?

Do I try to trade Atkins and KRod for Aram (3B), Youkilis (3B), Rollins, Martin (C), Soto (C)?

Do I try to trade Howard and KRod for someone like Wright, M Cabrera?

Any thoughts or other ideas appreciated.

If your struggling between the two...trading for one better guy is the best route - even if you "lose" the trade...you wind up with an improved final keeper, without the headache... I'd say howard and krod for wright or cabrera is too much to give up... And if no deal can be made, I'd probably keep krod myself....but I like to horde closers.

Thanks for the help with mine.

If no trade can be made keep KRod. Atkins is so overrated. I would try and trade for ARam or Rollins for your final keeper. The other trade I think you would be giving up a little much. But, keeping KRod isnt the worst thing in the world especially since your other keepers are strong.

I would try and get the best player available. Who cares if you give up too much. You are going to lose a player some how so you might as well get something for it. Saying that I actually doubt anyone would trade Wright/Cabrera for Howard and KRod. Most owners don't want to keep closers if they can help it and Howard is a nice 1B but by no means a great one. Going after a week position like SS or C isn't a bad move. If you can get Rollins or ARam then do it but again I am not sure it will happen. Trading KRod and Atkins for Soto or Martin is probably doable and I think I would go that route. But it doesn't hurt to start with Wright and go from there.

If you don't make a trade, keep K-Rod. I'm just not a big fan of Atkins.

Please help?

I think that Atkins would make a solid 7th keeper despite his decline in performance in the past couple of years. KRod would be a good keeper as well. Your Top 6 are very solid so I think you are in a good situation.

However, I would definitely prefer to have ARam over Atkins at 3B, so if you can swing the two-for-one, I would do it. I would also grab Rollins in a two for one in this case.

I am also a big fan of the players with power/speed skills, so I would explore a Howard/Atkins for Wright, Hanley, or Sizemore deal.

Another possibility to consider would be an Atkins/KRod exchange for a top flight starting pitcher like Webb, Haren, or Peavy. Of all the possibilities out there, this would be my preferred plan of attack... grab a solid SP to anchor your staff.

Good luck!

If no trade is made, then I'd keep Atkins or K-Rod. However, if you could package Howard and K-Rod for Wright or M-Cab (as you mentioned), I would definitely do that. Thanks for you help!
