Hey guys....need some advice here.... Our league keeps 3 hitters for as long as you want, and 2 for JUST the next season (they go into the following year's draft no matter what).....same goes for pitchers. Who would you keep given the following...fairly standard 6 X 6 scoring cats. Closers are usually at a bit of a premium
BATTERS: Jay Bruce (Cin - LF,CF,RF) Jacoby Ellsbury (Bos - LF,CF,RF) Andre Ethier (LAD - LF,RF) Vladimir Guerrero (LAA - RF) Corey Hart (Mil - CF,RF) Derek Jeter (NYY - SS) Carlos Pena (TB - 1B) Alex Rodriguez (NYY - 3B) Geovany Soto (ChC - C) Chase Utley (Phi - 2B)
PITCHERS: Erik Bedard (Sea - SP) Mark Buehrle (CWS - SP) Armando Galarraga (Det - SP) Hiroki Kuroda (LAD - SP) Chris Perez (StL - RP) Mariano Rivera (NYY - RP) CC Sabathia (NYY - SP) Johan Santana (NYM - SP) Jose Valverde (Hou - RP) C.J. Wilson (Tex - RP)
Any help would be mucho appreciated...will help in return if I can... Thanks!
Batters 3 Forever: Alex Rodriguez (NYY - 3B), Chase Utley (Phi - 2B), Jay Bruce (Cin - LF,CF,RF) 2 For Next Year: Jacoby Ellsbury (Bos - LF,CF,RF), Geovany Soto (ChC - C)
Pitchers 3 Forever: CC Sabathia (NYY - SP), Johan Santana (NYM - SP). Jose Valverde (Hou - RP) 2 For Next Year: Mariano Rivera (NYY - RP), Erik Bedard (Sea - SP)
Your batters were tough... It was difficult letting Vlad and Corey Hart go, but I would rather have Ellsbury's steals. Your 5th pitcher was a toss-up, I chose Bedard for his upside. I might switch Valverde and Rivera in their respective categories, but Rivera is getting pretty old.
