Would you do the deal I get Matt Holliday and give Webb/Soto.... If it was Webb and Holliday straight up I would od it in a heartbeat. I hate to give up Soto since he is going to be a Stud....
I say no. I am not the biggest Soto believer ever, but he is a solid catcher and at this point, I would bet that all of the viable catching options are gone, leaving you with a Gerald Laird or something.
This is a pre-draft trade.... We keep 7.... I am on the fence because of the thinness of the catcher position. However, Hilliday is a stud and it would also allow me to determine who else to keep out of the other players.
Planning on keeping:
Morneau Atkins Soto Gonzo Lincy Kinsler Webb.
If I do the trade, I would keep
Morneau Atkins Holliday Gonzo Lincy Kinsler Open (unsure who to keep)
I don't like the trade very much. I usually would take the hitter over a pitcher but Holliday has some questions regarding his move to the A's and Webb is one of the best SP out there plus you are giving up a top catcher. I would at least wait until after the draft to see how that lays out. You will always be able to get that kind of deal for Webb.
"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move."- Douglas Adams
Since Webb and Soto are both keepers, I'd would not do the trade. OF is a deep position this year so I bet you can get some quality players in the draft. Not so with Catcher and Webb is a stud pitcher. I'd definitely stick with what you have. If you made the trade, you'd have a few other players you could keep, but I don't think they are keeper worthy.
That last post was where I was leaning. I have a nulceus to build around. I may try to move atkins with one of my borderline keepers for an upgrade at 3b or SS. Other than that, I will remian pat.
