Hosmer or Morrison

Postby mj85 » Sat Feb 07, 2009 3:40 pm

This is a 12 team minor league draft.

I already have:

T Snider
E Andrus
P Alvarez
D Holland

I have the 2 of the next 4 picks. Others that I am considering include Alderson, Shafer, G Beckham, G Gonzalez, and Borbon.

I think I can get Borbon the next time around. I was going to target Hosmer or Morrison, then maybe Alderson. Maybe I'll get BOTH Hosmer and Morrison and the point will be moot. What do you think?

I would go Beckham, then Morrison for the two picks. Borbon should be there later for sure.

I think Hosmer and Morrison are pretty much a toss up....pick who you like more and go with it. I believe Hosmer is a little more highly touted so I would probably lean toward him just for that alone since neither has really had much time to show you something that makes you think you "have" to go one way or the other.

The reason i'm not big on Hosmer is the Royals propensity to screw up any hitter they have....How many high picks and how many of those guys have hit?

Beltran and Damon...jury still out on Butler. I have a hunch that Gordon will be added to that list by the end of the season.

It all depends on how long you have to wait. Hosmer is 3-4 years away. Morrison could be up as soon as next year depending on what he does this year. Beckham is probably the player quickest to the majors but I also think he will have the least impact. I like Morrison a lot (side note is he played college ball at the same school some guy named Albert Pujols attended).

I'd honestly prolly go G. Beckham, he will help you sooner at a more scare position (prety sure he will move to 2b).

Yeah take G Beckham and hope that one of the 2 1B fall to you with your next pick. I do like Morrison a little more since he should be 1-2 yrs closer to the MLB. And he was a monster in a big-time pitcher's park last year.
