Our league: AL only 5x5 roto, 8 keepers, draft/auction, standard $260 salary cap with 23 man roster
I had a post about my team in this league a few weeks ago, but I've made a couple of trades since that have altered my roster.
I have my keeper list narrowed down to 10 players. I can only keep 8. Salaries in parenthesis.
Mark Teixeira (31)
Miguel Cabrera (36)
Alex Gordon (10)
Alex Rios (13)
Carlos Quentin (6)
Billy Butler (10)
Kelly Shoppach (1)
Jon Lester (1)
Matt Harrison (1)
Josh Beckett (19)
My thinking right now is that I will eliminate Harrison and Beckett from this list. That would leave me only one keeper pitcher, but my offense would be about set, with the exception of steals. Teixeira, Cabrera, and Gordon would allow me to ignore all of the CI's on auction day. I view Butler as an important keeper because DH is a very thin position.
This strategy would leave me $152 on auction day to build a pitching staff and complete my roster. Closers are scarce and I'll probably have to spend $30+ to get one of the ones that are available. I was set with Putz, but his trade to the NL ruined that for me.
Thoughts, please. WHIR, please leave a link.

I would drop Butler and Harrison for sure. I don't see any reason to give up Beckett. He's a top starter in the AL. DH may be thin, but his mediocre production is not worth keeping at half the price of a top-tier starter.

Harrison has to go.
It is b/w Butler and Shoppach for the 8th and final spot, and I'd definitely prefer Shoppach. But if you are in love with Butler's upside go ahead and keep him instead.
Help me out...?
