Would you give Beltran for Kemp right now in a keeper league.

I would trade Beltran for Kemp. I think Beltran is about to be on the downside of his career, even though he has a few good years left in him. I would rather have the youngster who has yet to reach his potential. In fact, Kemp may be the new Beltran in the coming years. But Beltran has 1-2 rounds of value over Kemp right now, so if you are receiving the Kemp side, you should probably ask for at least a pick or another player.

I'd keep Beltran for now, he still has a bunch of production left.

I had Kemp on my team last year and I was pretty surprised when I took a look at his 08 stats. He had 600+ at-bats but I remember being fairly impatient with him and wondering how the outfield would work out every night (early on). I'd say Beltran has an advantage this year but after that I'd want Kemp. Kemp having a defined role, full season under his belt, and taking a few more bb's could really make him an elite player.

Depends on how your team/league is set up and your gut really - I like to roll the dice a bit with the younger guys so I might go with Kemp if this is a long term option but just for next year? Then Beltran has the edge.

I'd hold onto Beltran for at least a couple more years. Kemp is on his way, but as of right now, he only hopes to reach Beltran status!

Appreciate the help with my trade: http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=366935

In a keeper league I would take Kemp. He isn't gonna fall far behind Beltran this season and his perceived value moving forward only gets higher.

since it's a keeper league i would definately go with kemp. beltran is clearly on the backside of his career even though he'll give you a guaranteed 25-25 season, however i like kemp's upside much more. think of beltran in his prime...thats how good kemp is going to be. he's going to reach 30-30 if not this year, then next year and will eventually push for 30-40 and possibly 40-40, and as soon as the rest of the lineup catches up (loney) then his runs will jump up. 115 32 105 40 sb .320 avg is not too far away...maybe not this year but certainly 1-2 years from now, and that is not his ceiling. he had a dissappointing first half but picked it up in the second half. it was only his first full year, keep that in mind.

I think you're undervaluing Beltran. Yes Kemp has more years ahead of him, but Beltran is still at the top of his game. You should be able to get Kemp and another solid player for Beltran. So straight up Kemp for Beltran = no. Beltran for a package that includes Kemp = yes.
