McCann or Pena??

Postby Giambi Juice » Fri Feb 06, 2009 2:17 pm

I am in a 12 team keeper league and can't decide on my last keeper, Pena or McCann.

At first I thought it would defiantly be McCann, but as I look toward the draft, 1B is very thin and the next best 1B available are Cantu, Huff, Jacobs, and Loney. On the other hand, other catchers like Russell Martin will be available in the draft, I am not a big fan of catchers, and feel I can get a solid catcher later on in the draft.

I also need some help in the power department, so do you think keeping Pena over McCann is the right move??

I would keep McCann. McCann is perhaps the best catcher. I think the difference from McCann to whoever you would get at catcher would be greater than the difference from Pena to his replacement. I like Huff better than Pena anyway. If you need power , Martin wouldn't be much help.
Konerko will probably be available also , and give you power numbers close to Pena.

I'd keep McCann over Pena.

I would rather have McCann but I would also be curious on your other keepers.

McCann. That .250 avg from Pena doesn't do any favors. You can get a solid 1b option in the draft.

Not to beat a dead horse but McCann - catchers are thin and he is #1. You would notice the loss. Pena can be replaced. IMO. ;-D
