A-Rod would have a much clearer advantage over M-Cab with runs factored in but I'll take A-Rod regardless, especially when he performs well in an odd-year and factoring in Teixeira's presence in the Yanks' lineup.
This is an easy decision, go with A-Rod. Not only does he steal bases, his numbers are better than Cabrera in every department (AVG. could be a toss up). A-Rod hits in a better lineup and better ballpark.
Perhaps most importantly, Cabrera loses 3B eligibility. 1B is MUCH deeper, so you can grab a solid 1B later in the draft easier than you can get a solid 3B.
METS 24 wrote:This is weird. My last thread was asking advice on who to draft with the 20th & 21st overall picks in an AL only league. I happen to mention that I didn't need help with who I was going to draft 1st overall because that was obviously going to be A-Rod. I then received a least 3 responses stating that I should draft Miguel Cabrera 1st instead of A-Rod. Now that I made this a separate topic to see if you guys think I should Miguel Cabrera or A-Rod 1st overall everyone is saying A-Rod now. Very strange.
I believe that the respondents did not realize that SB was the 4th category and not runs, at least I hope thats the reason.
