You definately need some sort of ace on your pitching staff. I'm not sure if you're going to get a top flight ace. Liriano may work out for you, but there's a significant risk.

The manager who has Liriano, what's his weakness? What's his pitching staff look like. Perhaps Rios is too much for Liriano?

That's why i hate league votes. They don't want your team to get better. You get a commish in there who lets the league run, but protects from collusion. But doing a league vote, too much bias.

So can the Commish override the Veto? IMHO that trade is not worth an objection.

With that said, Lackey and Broxton are not worth Rios. You obviously need some SP and you have OF's to burn. If you are looking to acquire Lackey I would not be willing to part with anything more the Vernon Wells.
