Convince me: First pick goes to....

Postby OneLoveBoomer » Thu Feb 05, 2009 9:53 pm

A-Rod or Hanley?

CBS, $30 league. First pick of the draft. Standard 5x5 Roto, with expanded roster set up (5x OF, MI, CI, etc)

Who... and why?

I voted for Hanley. Obviously, it's close, but the opportunity to have a potential 40-40 guy get picked AFTER I make my selection would drive me up the wall. At 25, Ramirez is just showing us what he can do...

Hanley. Best fantasy player there is for me. All the numbers you want with power and speed. Plays a weak position. Playing with an MI spot also makes it a bit more important to take position scarcity into the equation.

Hanley hands down, I mean power, speed, a SS. Doesn't get much better than this but since everyone is going this route let me give you a reason for A-Rod. He's at 3B which still has some position scarcity but not as much as SS, he will have a great deal of RBI opportunities with Teixieria on his team, so expect a big season from him also. Hanley should be your choice, though but at the end of the day its all about your team and who you want to root for. Hope this helps
C= V. Martinez
1B = J. Morneau
2B =
3B= A. Ramirez
SS= J. Reyes
OF = Bay, Markakis and Kemp
SP: Halladay, Webb, Cain, Garza, Weaver, B. Anderson

Hanley, it's hard to justify since his team sucks and A-rod has Tex/Jeter and Co. but still Hanley

Hanley because he is a better fantasy player, it's that easy.

Hanley: power, speed at SS. You play with MI which puts that much more emphasis on getting an elite 2B/SS. You got it.
