Anyone have a favourite hotel in Vegas?

From our research the MGM Grand looks/sounds quite nice, but we are worried it might be full of people with kids (in September) :-P

We would prefer something on the strip - I saw someone in a previous thread say off-strip for cheaper, but we are looking for better.

Some possibilities.........

Monte Carlo
New York, New York

Treasure Island (or TI as i think they're referring to it now) is a good combo between price and location.

I really enjoyed Ceasar's and the Venetian.

Palms was nice but too far from everything else.

Mandalay Bay is ok.

The Wynn is nice, but caters more towards the 35+ crowd in its appearance. I'm not sure if Encore has the same motif though.

The Hilton was decent, but the best thing there was a whole shop dedicated to Barry Manilow . :-b

I hear the Stratosphere is cheap but far end of the strip.
Also heard Luxor or Circus Circus, but I dont like clowns so I would never stay at Circus Circus.

If price is no object, the Bellagio is pretty ritzy. I've stayed at the Luxor (Egyptian theme) and it was solid all around - nice rooms, cheap price. :-D

For my trip there this year I think we are planning on staying at the Mirage - if you decide on that, let me know what you think...

I stayed at Planet Hollywood the last time and it was nice. It caters to the 21-35 crowd. The dealers are all women dressed in lingerie!!

If you want cheap and on the strip go Circus Circus.

Been a while since I've been to Vegas, but my friend swears by the new Encore (the same hotel complex across from Wynn), mainly for the spa. Wynn is quite good too.

I loved the Bellagio, but as PP says, if you want to spend a bit for luxury, then go for it. I also liked Caesar's, the Venetian, Paris, Monte Carlo, and Luxor. Palms is great, but all I've been there for was the Ghost Bar, Rain, and the Lounge.

I've only got experience with TI and the Venetian on the strip, but both are right across from each other, pretty centrally located, and I liked both. I'll give the nod to TI (Treasure Island) due to their clubs and that they had a naked* asian chick on the door key, so that's where I stay when I go.

* - picture was taken from behind and showed the top of her crack to her neck, so mostly her back, but there were frontal curves on it as well. Nothing really, nothing I'd actually call "nudity", just found it interesting for that to be on the key card and thought I'd share. :-D
