I'm wonder which city in the U.S. has been the longest without a championship? (I.E. Super Bowl, NBA Title, World Series) I'm only wondering about the big 3 sports since I could care less about NHL. Plus the WNBA doesn't count either since Woman can't play sports for real.
Anyone know by chance or will I just have to quit being lazy and research it myself?
“Never argue with a idiot, because first they will bring you down to their level. Then beat you with experience.”
I have no idea, but some of my intial guesses would be Seattle, KC, San Diego, Cleveland, New Orleans.
This list includes cities that have at least 2 major sports franchises. You could say a town like San Antonio (just an example, they've won within the last 10 years), but they only have 1 franchise.
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...
its cleveland if you need 3, san diego if only 2 is required.
Cleveland has waited longer than any other city with three major sports franchises to win a title. The last time a Cleveland professional sports team won a championship was in 1964 when the Cleveland Browns won the NFL Championship (pre-Super Bowl era). The Cleveland Indians last won the World Series in 1948 (the second-longest drought in MLB, after the Cubs) and the Cleveland Cavaliers have also never won an NBA championship. The city even had a short-lived NHL hockey team called The Barons, which never won a championship either.
San Diego's two professional sports teams, the San Diego Padres and the San Diego Chargers, have never won a World Series or Super Bowl, which are believed to stem from the San Diego Sports Curse. The Padres have the most World Series appearances (two) of the eight teams without a World Series championship. The Chargers won the 1963 AFL championship and have only appeared in one Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXIX, which they lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 49-26).
I would think it has to be Cleveland. Last World Series in 1948, no Super Bowls, no NBA Titles. There might be some cities without any title, but I doubt any has had a team in all 3 sports for the amount of time Cleveland has.
