I am in a 30 team - 50 player (25 man active and 25 man reserve) DMB (simulation) baseball league. I have been offered the following deal:
Chris Davis - 1B/3B (from TEX) - with 6-8 years left on contract for Chien-Ming Wang - SP - with 3-5 years left on contract and a late 3rd round pick (the amatuer draft is 3 rounds deep)
What should I do?
My team's 1B is Daryle Ward, but I have Lars Anderson and Kyle Blanks waiting in my reserves. I also have Bill Hall for 3B with Neil Walker in my minors. As for pitchers right now Wang is my ace, but behind him I have J. Blanton, J. Bonderman, K. Lohse, M. Chico, K. Gabbard, and R. Liz. Also, I could be getting N. Lowry in a trade and I have my eye on some SP FA (maybe a John Smoltz, Brad Penny, Randy Johnson, one year guys).
Thank you for all your help!

Well 30 team league, nice. It would be wise to post your entire pitching roster including reserves. This is the way I see it losing Wang may hurt your pitching, but acquiring a young and extremely talented player in the mold of a Chris Davis in a deep league such as this will more than make up for it. Any time you can acquire a player with Davis's talent you must do so and giving up an average player to acquire him makes this an easy choice. MAKE THE DEAL
Interesting trade option. I assume there aren't any decent free agent 3B options? If not, I think you should do the deal even though I think it diminishes your rotation to something far less desirable.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.
If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.
Not many 3B options. 1B isn't deep either. My complete pitchers are Wang, Blanton, Bonderman, Lohse, Matt Chico, Kason Gabbard, Radhames Liz, Jeremy Jeffress, Bobby Livingston, and Mark Rogers. I also have Kameron Loe, for LR, even though he isn't much of a SP any more.
