I think you're underrating Bay then. Of course, just my opinion, but...
Bay .286/31 HR/101 RBI/111 Runs/10 SB
Quentin .288/36 HR/100 RBI/96 Runs/7 SB
Markakis .306/20 HR/87 RBI/106 Runs/10 SB
Crawford .273/8 HR/57 RBI/69 Runs/25 SB
Those are '08 numbers. Of course Crawford's have to be taken with a bit of a grain of salt due to only playing 109 games. Still, he hasn't eclipsed 100 runs since 2005 (and he won't do it again 'til he learns how to take a walk), and has never eclipsed 18 HR or 81 RBI. He's a 2 trick pony (AVG, SB). Of course he's an elite basestealer, but that's not enough for me to take him over any of the other 3.
Markakis is a very good ballplayer, I like him a lot, and considered him here. But Bay is a similar player...only statistically better, with a better track record. More power, similar speed, a better supporting cast. Markakis has more upside, but at 30 years old, it's not like Bay is "old".
Quentin is a very interesting player this year. His '08 came out of no where after 2 pretty awful years in Arizona. Coupled with some injury concerns, and I just like the safer pick in Bay. Of course, I acknowledge that Quentin has a better chance of ending up a top 5 OF.
