Markakis is gonna be a great fantasy player, he's not even close to offering fair value in that trade. Also, have you already decided keepers? If not i'd probably keep Alexei Ramirez and Soto over Hoffman and Ethier.
I would try and counter that trade to see if you could get Utley for cheap. In a keeper league, what's a couple of months on the DL? Try Markakis and a mid tier pitcher to get Utley.
And I'll resonate a previous poster: keep Alexei over Hoffman - any day of the week - you will regret this later.
But the more I look at it, that trade is garbage. He's giving up no keepers in order to gain a strong OF. Would you honestly give up any of your other players to keep Vazquez, or even worse Escobar? You're basically giving up a keeper to throw two players back into the free agent pool for redraft.
