Who do I take? (New list of available players 2/13/09)

Postby Southern Illinois Cardinals Fan » Tue Feb 03, 2009 6:40 pm

Here is my team:
Major League Team: St. Louis Cardinals

C:
1B: Albert Pujols
2B:
3B: Troy Glaus
SS: Hanley Ramirez
OF: Ryan Ludwick
OF: Alfonso Soriano
OF: Nate McLouth
Util: Rick Ankiel (would like to trade)

SP: Adam Wainwright
SP: Chris Carpenter
SP: Dan Haren
SP:
SP:
RP: Joakim Soria
RP:
P:

Prospects

1: Colby Rasmus
2: Brett Wallace
3: Cameron Maybin
4: Mike Moustakas
5: Dexter Fowler
6: Andrew McCutchen
7:
8:
9:
10:

I still have to wait about 10 picks before my back to back prospects. In the Majors, I would like to package Glaus and Ankiel for an earlier draft pick (18 picks before my next) or a P/2B/C/3B. If I can't get a trade done, which position should I trade for.

Top 5 Available by Position (based on my projections):
C: Ianetta, B. Molina, Shoppach, Posada, Snyder
DH: Big Papi
1B: Votto, Dunn, Atkins, C. Jackson, Swisher
2B: J. Lopez, K. Johnson, Cano, Polanco, Aviles
SS: Tulowitzki, M. Young, Peralta, Aviles
3B: Atkins, Zimmerman, Gordon, Figgins, Cantu
OF: Ellsbury, Ordonez, Dunn (Also Victorino and others...)
SP: Burnett, Harden, Dempster, Verlander, Wang (Also Sheets, Jer. Weaver, Nolasco...)
RP: Broxton, Capps (Also Cordero, BJ Ryan, Bell...)

Note, that these are just my projections and this is a 12 teams H2H 5x5 I believe. So where would you go with it?

Not what position, but take best players. Need a list of whos the top at each position. Of names you mentioned, forget 2B for now. Zimmerman or Gordon.

Haha. So you guys think I should grab Zimmerman if he's available? What about my other pick (back to back)

I wouldn't worry so much about filling positions than I would with taking the best player available. I'd like to see more names to see who else is out there. Of the names you listed I'd grab both Zimmerman and Figgins.

There are some nice options on the board, especially in OF. Take the best player left over.

I was thinking something like Burnett and Ordonez but I am unsure whether either will fall to me.
