What Concert Have You Been To Lately?

Went to see The Kings of Leon at the Hollywood Bowl last weekend. Was amazing. Could have been more amazing if they wouldn't have confiscated my alcohol at the gate.

Bruce Springsteen - I've seen the Boss ten times, and he gets a 10/10 everytime. The energy level he brings, the way he interacts with the crowd, the two-and-a-half/three hour sets (without anyone else opening for him), no concert that I've seen has ever come close to matching a Springsteen concert. If you haven't seen him, do yourself a favor and see him.

Jay Z-Not bad at all, I'd give him a 8/10.
Young Jeezy-Opened for Jay Z, wasn't great, 5/10.
Trey Songz-Opened for Jay Z and Jeezy, actually was better than Jeezy 6.5/10
Lil Wayne-Terrible live, 4/10.

Taylor Swift-I went with my girlfriend to see her, and I was very impressed, she put on a great show, and she just has something about her that makes me want to marry her. 8/10

Saw Dr. John and Jonny Lang on Saturday at Blues Fest. Pretty sweet.


Saw Sir Paul McCartney last night. At 70ish years old this guy can still rock. Over 3 hours of hits. He is a great storyteller as well, bringing up interesting notes about the songs and talking about John, George, Clapton, Hendrix and Linda. Even had some pyrotechnics.

He plays 3 hour shows, noone opens for him, his band is on stage for three hours, and they give it their all during all 25-30 songs, you'd be doing yourself a major disservice by skipping an opportunity to see him.

Just scored a pair of tickets to the Jay-Z/Eminem concert at Comerica in September. Should be good. I saw Eminem once at Ford Field and he put on a hell of a show.....and I've never seen HOV live so looking forward to that.

I saw Jay Z on the Hard Knocks Life Tour in '99 and he was horrible. So bad that we walked out like three songs into his set. But I've heard he put on really good shows from other people I know who have seen him.

I saw Jay-Z on the Blueprint 3 Tour with Jeezy and Trey Songz. Jay-Z was very good I thought, Jeezy was meh, Trey was surprisingly good. I think that should be a great show, I've never seem Em although I'd love to.
