Pick 4 Keeper league! WHIR!

Postby Xezus » Mon Feb 02, 2009 2:43 pm

12 team H2H keeper league starting this year, we can keep 7 players for 3 years. I just got pick 4 in the draft so i have 5 guys that i had in mind with my first pick.
8x8 scoring

Han Ram
Pujols
Reyes
A-Rod
Wright

Those are my top 5 in no particular order. We have 8x8 scoring so doubles and triples are included which up reyes' value a good bit. Pujols has a bit of injury concern, and A-rod might lose a bit of value because he is the oldest outta the bunch. Could u guys just rank these players 1-5 and if ya can just relay a small reasoning for y? Thanks in advance

WHIR!!!!!!!! :-D

Hanley- Numbers don't lie
a-Rod- Always on top
Pujols- He will be fine and back to the top of the list
Wright- He is just as good as A-Rod and might surpass him this year
Reyes- He's just not as good as Hanley

With doubles and triples being added, Reyes' value does jump, but how far?

Since you have the fourth pick, you prolly will not be able to choose between Hanley and Arod. Though I agree with the order posted above in standard leagues, I would think if Reyes is still there at 4, I would pounce, to grab an early edge for your triple category.

Hanley-always the best
Arod-odd year he should go off
Reyes-with your scoring, he could be great
Wright-like reyes but at a deeper position
Pujols-just can't go for a 1b over the other talent in the top 5.

Thanks for your help btw.

I think with picking fourth you can assume that Hanley, A-Rod and Pujols will be gone. I think it comes down between Reyes and Wright and between those two I would go with Reyes. I think that in your league with doubles and triples that Reyes would be a better value than Wright.

Hanley
Arod
Reyes
Wright
Pujols

At pick 4, you'll get one of Reyes or Wright, which is something that you should be damn happy with. Pujols falls to 5 despite being a beast because of injury concerns. That said, I think he'll be just fine this year.

Hanley-always the best
ARod-odd year plus he is still an offensive machine
Pujols-injury concerns but that didnt stop him from dominating last year
Reyes-great value in your league for extra base hits
Wright-just not as good as the rest in my opinion. He is always overhyped in my opinion but he is still good.

I would target Reyes if I were you unless Pujols falls to you. You can't beat his outstanding consistency.

thanks for your help with mine

Reyes, but if Pujols for some reason slips, take him. His "injury" status is way overblown and if you can land the best pure hitter in the game regardless of position, do so.

Han Ram - contribute everywhere
A-Rod - I agree that he will have huge year
Wright - only getting better
Reyes - minus power, should be a contributer in other cats
Pujols - Not too concerned about injury, and maybe im crazy for putting him 5th...
