5X5 keeper league. We can keep 15 years. The year you draft a guy is automatically a 1yr guy, if you keep him another year he becomes a 2yr etc etc.
I have
A. Gonz 2yr//kemp 1yr//mclouth 1yr//Zimm 1yr//Aviles 1yr//nady 1yr//navarro 1yr ***//c jackson 1yr
Soria 2yr//kershaw 1yr//pelfrey 1yr//lowe 1yt//Weaver or Volstad both 1yr
** Need to hold a catcher in this league as we use 2 and many will be kept
I pick 7th in the first round. I believe the following guys will be available
Holliday, Utley, c. lee, Aram, Webb, Mccann, Martin, Fielder, Sabathia
I figure Fielder, Webb, or Mccaan will fall to 7
I have been offered Kinsler for my first round pick. I figure I can drop or package weaver
SHOULD I DO THIS DEAL

He is a 1yr guy as he was drafted last year. Once the keeper list is submitted he is bumped up to a 2yr guy. The years only impacts keeper lists as they are meaningless for your actual rosters. You could technically have 30 4yr guys by the end of the season due to trades.
If I were to trade for Kinsler I would loose my first round pick and would have to drop one of my planned keepers. I would drop Weaver.

normally I am against trading a draft pick for a keeper but in this case you have to do the trade.
Kinsler>>>>>>>>>>>>>McCann + Weaver

I like Kinsler better than all of the above, and I'd drop Volstad to make room for him.
Agreed but I'd drop Pelfrey instead of Volstad.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.
If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.
