Just wondering if anyone out there has done anything creative for a league trophy or has any good recommendations. Wanting to make a travelling Stanley Cup style trophy, but don't want it to look to boring or typical.

I think that a really cool idea is to try to get some current or former Major Leaguer to sign a ball, and write a short congratulatory note to the champ of the league. Call the ball the "Tom Brookens Trophy" and write the champ from each year on the other side of the ball. Use the ball as your traveling trophy.

Thats a cool idea. I was hoping to use some sort of memorabilia for it.
I was also thinking of making one of those Mini-Kegs into a trophy. Seemed an appropriate shift from a championship cup.

We started our league in 1991. A couple years after that we got the idea of a trophy. It has a batter on the top and a plate with each years winning owner and team name engraved along with the year. Since this is our 19th year, the trophy looks pretty good. The winner of 2008 will be presented the trophy this spring at the Auction for him to keep all year.

Ok, Ive made up my mind. I figure that a Championship cup is a bit too classy for our league. So I've decided to go with the Championship Keg. I'll get one of those heineken mini-kegs. Take all the logos off.
Then I do love the idea of having someone sign it and be the Trophy's sponser. I just found out that Rob Dibble will become the new color guy here for the Nationals. Now I KNOW Ive found the right guy for the job.
Thanks for the idea.
